How We Met

When they starting dating in 2006, Krista and Joe discovered they had a lot in common. They both enjoy being outdoors, camping, fishing and most of all spending time with family and friends. After being together for 5 years they got married.

The date they chose, September 26, was special to both of them as it was Krista's grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary as well as the date her parents and aunt and uncle were married on. It was a day to remember and celebrate for a lifetime.

Soon after they were married they started trying for a family. They were told they wouldn't be able to have kids of their own. To their surprise, they ended up pregnant. However, soon after suffered the heartbreak of a loss.

They knew in their hearts that their next journey would be adoption.

What Joe says about Krista

Krista is my best friend. She is very hardworking and selfless. She always puts others before herself and has a very caring and nurturing spirit. She is incredibly compassionate and empathetic, both of which will make her an amazing mother. She is always there when I need someone to talk to, and I’m glad our child will grow up with a mother they will always be able to confide in.”

Meet Our Family

Joe and Krista are extremely close with all of their extended family. They get to see both of our families pretty often as we all live fairly close by. They enjoy getting together with both sides of their family for birthday parties, celebrating holidays or just enjoying a summer night sitting by a campfire catching up. Family is everything and they look forward to one day making their own traditions with a little one added to the family.

Krista's family all lives in the same town, and her mom and dad join them for pool days in the summer, road trips and grilling out in the backyard along with many other outings. Krista's mom is retired and her dad is semi-retired, so they will have plenty of time to spend with their future grandchild. While she doesn't have any siblings, Krista considers her best friend like a sister.

Joe has two sisters, two nieces and three nephews, making the couple Uncle Joe and Auntie Krista. His older sister and niece live in Northern Wisconsin, and the rest of his family all live a short drive away from their home. Joe's dad works on a farm and his mom works at a restaurant. His younger sister works for a school day care and his older sister is a professional photographer. Joe and Krista can’t wait for her to take great photos of their family.

Together, Joe and Krista own three cats, Molly, Lilly and Bella. They consider their fur babies their children right now. All three of the girls have been rescued. They love to be in the open windows or laying on top of the heat registers. Each one is unique in their own way. Bella loves to play with ice cubes, Lily plays with the rugs on the floor and Molly sleeps on her own full size pillow.
